Netbeans 7.4 has an inbuilt support for terminal emulator. All you need is to go to Window->IDE Tools->Terminal.

If you could run a terminal you maybe need to use the "locale"... which is supposed to set the encoding (and decoding) process concerning the characters you need to write.

For example in belgium, in C I have to set locale to fr_BE.UTF-8 in my C program, just like this:

setlocale(LC_ALL,"fr_BE.UTF-8");

You can see which locale fits your regional settings by using the commande locale in a terminal.

I don't know but I think is:

cs_CZ or cs_CZ.utf8

...to make your terminal ready to display your characters AND the applications using the terminal to display them.

...your terminal must be configured by the operating system first, I don't know if there is a way to set the locale in the netbeans configuration files or use particular settings menu to set up the locale.

For Konsole terminal for example there is a tab to set the character encoding but this is Linux that sets the keyboard layout first.
